About Me
I have been studying contemporary ikebana, Sogetsu style, for over 20 years. The Sogetsu philosophy, established by its founder Sofu Teshigahara, allows ikebana to be done anywhere, at any time, by anyone and using anything, while incorporating self-expression (ultimately one’s design) into the arrangement.
Ikebana has given me an appreciation and a deeper view of Nature. I love teaching ikebana. Most of all I love seeing how students progress and develop skills that allow them use Sogetsu ikebana not only as an art but as a means of connecting with Nature.
As a certified Sogetsu teacher, I have been teaching in person for many years, and via Zoom since the start of pandemic. Using Zoom, I have been teaching students from Oregon, New York, Michigan and Virginia.
